Splash is a interactive 3d experiment on tessellation and simple physic simulation.


How it was done?

In order to create fragment effect, it uses THREE.ExplodeModifier to separate faces with unique vertices. The wrecking ball's speed and direction contribute to the force for each face going outward. The floor has friction ratio at 0.95 every frame so that it creates sliding effect on the floor.

Bloom Effect

To give an illusion of tessellation bloom, it translates each face outward with random speed and timeout. Reset to center afterward.
